today is your day
February 28, 2024In 2020 I had been laid off after 11 years at a job, and had just decided to go back for my Master’s degree after being out of school for a decently long time. After I finished my MS, it took considerably longer to get back into my field than I thought it would. There are so many uplifting ZOX that I have in my rotation, but I would especially wear Today is Your Day during a particular set of interviews. When HR called me and my heart was pounding, I looked down at my wrist and remembered the message on the card, namely the part “…it only takes one to change your life.” I was offered the job that day! I am in the biotech industry and things have been difficult, and even though I am unfortunately laid off again, I will still never forget that day. I will continue to be uplifted by my many great ZOX in my collection as I start my search again, and hope I have another moment like my prior one sooner rather than later!
