In early 2021, I was diagnosed with an autoimmune liver disease and a month and a half later, I received a life-saving liver transplant, as my liver rapidly deteriorated and I became seriously ill. At this time, I was also diagnosed with five other chronic illnesses. Even after my transplant, I had to go through further surgeries and have experienced, to name a few, anaphylaxis, a cardioversion and lung collapse, Pneumonia and sepsis requiring ventilation for a week. I was 27 at the time.

This band reminds me that, despite the daily challenge of living with 5 chronic illnesses and a transplant, I have already managed to survive the worst of it. Without the amazing gift of life that my donor gave me, and the work of talented surgeons and doctors, I would categorically not be here. I survived that, and I can survive anything that the world throws in my direction.
