phases

December 2, 2019
I’m not one for affirmations. And I don’t work through my grief the way many others do. “Stoic” might be a way to describe my outer appearance, but that doesn’t show what I’m dealing with inside. I first bought a handful of Zox in early 2018 just because I thought they were cool. Then at the end of May, my mother passed away. Despite living 2,000 miles away I tried to stay close, but in her later years and after 2 broken hips, her health declined, and those routine phone calls became difficult and painful. Mom lived a full life, and after 96+ years it was just her time. Now, my Phases wristband reminds me of our travel through time, how we must make the most of it while we can, celebrating successes, and dealing with the not-so-positive events as best as we are able. And for the lucky ones, our Moms leave behind their recipes for the BEST deviled eggs.
