failure ≠ defeat

July 11, 2021
The very first ZOX I bought was the “today I will not worry” strap. I bought one for me and for a friend after we both had miscarriages that changed our lives and my perception of joy. Since that time, I have collected several more that carry special meaning for me. The “You are enough” strap reminds me that every month we fail to conceive again, that it is okay, I am still breathing. I am enough for my husband and my family and myself. The “either way, I’ll be okay” strap is for when I am waiting to see if it’s “the month” I will get pregnant again. The “failure ≠ defeat” I wear when I have passed another month with no success. I carry many of the cards with me when I go to work, and use the affirmations to calm down when I get overwhelmed. When I feel the weight of the world on me, I like to wear the “perfectly imperfect” strap because I need to remember that my weirdness makes me wonderful. I have many more that I wear for many reasons, but I am so grateful for the beautiful straps you create that serve as daily reminders that my humanity and range of emotions is what helps me to be a good nurse, wife, dog mom, and friend.
