Hey, y'all! How are ya? I hope the month of August is finding you well; with my last post, I mentioned how excited I was for the summer season. Fret not, my jubilation over the arrival of the summer sun has not ended – in fact, it has resulted in another strap design! My inaugural dip in the pool and dreams of coastal beaches inspired this lovely strap, and I am so happy to share it with y'all today, along with a timelapse video of my process!
So, I have to know, are you the type of swimmer to throw caution to the wind and cannonball into the deep end, or are you the swimmer slowly edging your way into the pool? Personally, I am a cannonball type of gal; I used to think I was a diver, but quickly abandoned that idealogy after seeing a tape of my swim meet performances. Whichever way you approach the dauntingly cool water of a summer pool – more power to you.
Now, how do you approach intimidating situations and projects? The hardest part of anything – whether it be work, social events, or personal projects – is starting it. It's only normal to hesitate in the face of a daunting task, but when we procrastinate starting that project or attending that event, it begins to seem even more insurmountable. For example, in my last year of college, I was tasked with building a portfolio – this portfolio would be multiple pieces, and these pieces would be viewed as the pinnacle of my artistic prowess. That, alone, was an intimidating undertaking, but once I started to procrastinate and overthink it, that project began to seem more and more unassailable.
So I divided the project up into attainable goals and dove in. Much to my surprise (at the time) the project was difficult, but it was also doable. Let this strap be a reminder to Jump In! Jump in on that project that you've been putting off, I promise you will feel better once it's started.
It's easy to make a formidable foe out of an intimidating situation, so here are some other tips I've picked up along the way to make that project feel a little more attainable.
Y'all are all wonderfully talented and gifted; I know that whatever the task, you can do it! Let this strap be a reminder to jump in – whatever y'all do, as long as you give it your best, it will be glorious I'm sure of it. With that, I'll leave you – stay safe, healthy, and cool until I see you next! So long ~
