I’ve always heard that confidence does you wonders, in many ways. Whether it’s the confidence that you’re going to do well on something, or confidence in your appearance, it opens the door for you to not really care about naysayers because you’re approaching the situation with a strong sense of self-assurance. It can be difficult to tap into your inner “I got this despite everything,” especially if you deal with anxiety.

However, confidence allows us to approach any situation we face with a level of security that we will do exactly what we set out to do. That’s why I think Beet the Odds is so important as a reminder. No matter what odds are stacked against you – if you put them aside, put them below you, and not allow them to affect your mind or actions, you’ll be able to go above and beyond in proving the odds wrong. You’re not what others say about you – you are defined by who you are. And if you’re confident, assured, and strong in your beliefs, that’s all that matters.
