The ZOX community is brimming with incredible souls that have a story to tell and a collection to build. We want to feature some of the Zoxers that are most active in the VIP community. This week, we're featuring Mandy Inglis! She's a VIP I interviewed to share her story about joining the ZOX community and how it's impacted her life. Take a gander at our conversation below:
How many ZOX do you have in your collection?
I am currently attempting to do a full catalogue of them all, so to answer this question, I have to just count how many straps in my files & boxes ... These are only straps (not including Pearls, Imperials, Strings, Lanyards, 2 hoodies, a T-Shirt & zoxbox) ... I have a fraction over 1,300 (one of the most impressive collections in the community) ... I have to be honest and say I thought it was a few hundred less!!!! Whoops.
What do you love about being a VIP?
I love the people. I have made so many friends through trades, chats & my lives, it's been absolutely fantastic. These are people I don't just chat with on FB, but we Whatsapp each other and hope to meet up once the world is a little less topsy turvy! I also love the rewards. I've said this many times before & I've never been a part of a company where the reward is so awesome. I've been able to get some extra things because of it.
What do you love about ZOX?
I love that I can have a wristband to match my moods or outfit & even hair! But above all, I love the positive messages that each one brings, & sometimes, I buy them purely for the message on the card. The ethos of the company is important to me, too, & that so much money gets donated to charities is absolutely awesome.
What’s your favorite ZOX and why?
This one is a difficult one. Those that have watched my lives will know that I have a new favourite each time I see a new one!!! So I have managed to narrow it down to the 9 in the pic attached.
But before I get into those, I wanted to say how amazingly fun the ones that you can colour in are & I've attached a couple to show my progress so far.
Mom - I bought this while my Mum was in hospital, the day before she passed.
Deez - I love cartoon pics on the straps and this is just the cutest.
Great Wave - I have a tattoo of this same pic as part of my 5 Elements around my arm.
Asteroids - This Moonstone was very important to me as the rocket looks like the Moonrocket I had tattooed in memory of my Dad who passed away in 2002.
The Good Place - this was my grail for so long, and this was actually my 3rd attempt at getting it!!! I believe one is still (almost a year later) lost in the vast mail hub of Heathrow airport! I was gifted the extra stress-toy with it
Fly Guys - Gold Bar / Black Star - I just adore this - it's beyond cute!
Dovebirds - Black Star - I have the full set and I finally managed to get this one ... it's my absolute FAV
Unphased - Mega-Moonstone (using S1 cards) This took so long for me to complete, and through my trades to finish this season, I met the most awesome friends. Also, the card number is 69 & it arrived through my letterbox on what would have been my Mother's 69th birthday. She had passed at the young age of 67. I do struggle not having her in my life, but I always feel extra close if I wear this. So, because I've worn it loads, I made it my mission to finish S2 Moonstones so I can have another Mega!!! The final Moonstone is on it's way from ZOX so I'll be able to claim it soon enough.
My Final fav strap is of course the Doggo one! This was the 1st version, and my rescue boy Teddy made it & not just that, but he was on the strap that Jason showed us as part of a sneak-peak live just before they were released. I have a few with him on, and I was even lucky enough to find one in a Mystery Pack!!! It's wonderful hearing from Zoxers all over the world telling me they've found Teddy on their Doggo strap.
If you could design your own ZOX, what would be the art and name of it?
This is a really difficult one as I'm not really artistic ~ but I very much appreciate other people's talents. I'm currently learning to draw using the awesome Rich Nairn's YouTube tutorials. In fact, his Halloween set is my most treasured set.
I also really like Jonathan Lumi's style & I've managed to complete his collection. I love the bright colours he uses & the whole space theme.
I think if someone was able to draw my idea I would love to do one around Mental Health (as this is very important to me) and have thought bubbles with negative thoughts crossed out & replaced with positive ones on the other side.
This would be a daily reminder to replace negative phrases with positive ones. The card would be a simple one just showing all of the positive messages (without any negative ones) - it would be black & white but the positive words would be the brightest of colours.
Which ZOX are you planning on acquiring next?
I have an And Sven bag on its way, which I'm very excited about as I love small backpacks & this will be just the most adorable addition to my collection.
As for straps, I would like to find my 3 ultimate grails during this year - 'CloudPool', any of the Purple stitching (as I believe I have every different stitch colour except the purple) and I'd love to pull the new Black Star 'Live On' as I absolutely love love love sugar skulls.
