Meet  Avi Haber!

Hi Avi! Where are you from?

I am from beautiful San Diego, California. 

How long have you been a ZOX VIP?

I joined VIP at the end of November of last year. I honestly should have joined the group long before that, but I can't remember why I never did it. 

What does your ZOX collection consist of?

I have mostly singles and straps. I do have a few other items such as one ring, the camera bag, a few lanyards and just one imperial. Took me a while to get the ring because I couldn't remember my ring size. Most recently I was able to join the Pearl club, so I have a separate pile building up of the pearls. I keep those in their own box vs the other straps/singles I have in a container. Also got my first ZoxBox as well, which was the food one. I also have 2 shirts and a jacket, a few strings and a small handful of charms too. I do have 2 binders (one of season 4 and one personal to store the cards)

Which ZOX started your collection, and what is your most recent piece?

I made my first purchase in 2019. I got 3 straps which were Ouroboros, Extrafurrestrial and Love Who You Are. I originally got the Love one in a size small since I have rather small wrists and didn't think to measure myself. It made sense in my head, but I learned I need a bigger size. The most recent piece I have in my collection is another trio which is the Coexist, Us Against the World and the Take it Slow SS variant. I will be adding several more in the coming week which includes today's release. 

What’s your favorite ZOX, and why?

This one is a tough one because there are several that mean a lot to me. My top one has to be the Ouroboros. Aside from the cool dragon design, it's a symbol that has meant a lot to me recently. The symbol represents wholeness or infinity, a cycle of life, death and rebirth. Almost a year ago, I was diagnosed with a certain Lymphoma. I had gone through chemo and a transplant and am currently getting a second transplant after a brief relapse. So in a sense, I had my own form of rebirth cycle. 

If you could design your own collection, what would it be?

 I would design something that would be not only meaningful personally, but also bring awareness to certain causes. I support an organization that rescues animals, gives them medical attention and finds them a furever home. I also have Crohn's, but it's been under control while I get the cancer treatment. So something to relate to with the CCFA (Crohn's & Colitis Foundation) would be cool. Lastly, a strap about an event I'll actually be participating in later this year called Light The Walk (by the Lymphoma and Leukemia Society). I don't know a lot of what goes on during the event, but I know it is a night walk where participants have different colored lanterns that represent survivor, supporter or in memory of. I actually did a design for that one in the ZIF page. 

What do you love about VIP?

The thing I love most about the group is that it is such a positive and uplifting page. We may be from different parts of the world, speak different tongues but kindness brings us together and it's a place we can all spread that joy with these pieces of art.

What do you love about ZOX?

I love how unique it is. You can wear different wristbands with different messages, mix and match with the things you are wearing and overall it's art you don't see anywhere else. like a little canvas of joy. 

Which ZOX are you planning on acquiring next?

The next strap is actually from the latest drop. I will be getting the Float on By. I like animals and jellyfish are fascinating to me. I'm not sure if the one on the strap is a Man O'War, but those guys are pretty scary with the long tentacles. Still mesmerizing to see from a far though. I'll also be getting the July Pearl and several Mystery Packs. But for those it will be a mystery of what I get. Always something new and exciting.
