warrior

November 10, 2019
I grew up with music. Everything in my life had a sense of music about it, and everyone I knew in my family had some musical talent. My grandfather taught me to read music, and to love singing. My grandmother helped me to learn to breathe properly. Whether I sang A Capella  or high church, music was in my blood. My grandmother died of lung cancer, just one day before my wedding. A wedding where I had a dear friend of mine sing Ave Maria unaccompanied. It was beautiful, and since it was my grandmother's favourite piece, very fitting. My grandfather passed away from cancer a few years ago, and the lady who sang the solo for my wedding passed from breast cancer just two weeks ago. This band is a reminder to me that we may get touched by cancer, but we're all warriors, we can all survive to fight another day.
