survivor

August 2, 2021
I am a survivor. My life has not been easy, but I try to find light and joy in everything. From overcoming addiction, surviving abuse, battling BPD and anxiety, losing loved ones, trying to find my place in this world, and at one point living on the streets in the dead of winter... But I’ve always held onto hope because some days it was all I had. These bracelets give me a way to visualize that hope. I have a couple dozen at this point and have given many from my own collection and brand new as gifts to someone who needed a little hope. When I wear them, they are reminders that I still have fight left in me and that as long as I have hope, I can not lose. Now, collecting bracelets is by no means a way to handle very real and very dangerous mental health topics but they are visual, physical, tangible reminders that I absolutely have a reason to be here and that no matter how bad my day is, no matter what challenges I face, I have made it this far in life and have so much more to offer the world.
