love remembers

March 25, 2021
My great uncle fought Alzheimer's for a very long time before losing the battle almost ten years ago. I remember so vividly how he used to recognize mine and my family member's faces, but he couldn't quite understand why we felt so familiar, and his eyes would just sparkle with tears because he couldn't remember names. Watching someone you love fight this terrible illness is unimaginably difficult. I keep it on my car keys so I get to see it every day without fail. This strap means the world to me.
