just breathe

April 7, 2020
My youngest daughter, Angel who is 12, has cystic fibrosis. Over the last twelve months her health and the condition of her lungs has deteriorated rather quickly. To the point her consultant was beginning a referral for her to be put on the transplant list for a double lung transplant. To say I was scared was an understatement. The whole process seems so daunting and the end outcome is not guaranteed to be a happy one. I was staying at the hospital with her, one of her two weeks iv stays, when I came across the ad on Facebook for zox. I started doing some digging and came across zoxlist, where I saw a post for someone selling the Just breathe strap but it had already been sold. I knew that I had to try to get my hands on six of these straps, one for each of my family, as a kind of connection and anchor to help us through the awful time Angel was facing. So I put a post up on zoxlist saying that I was looking for six just breathe straps and that I knew the chances of getting my hands on six was going to be slim, but I was willing to pay to get them and how important they were to me and my family. I wasn’t holding out much hope, but literally within an hour or so I had a reply of an amazing man named Michael. He had ordered some mps and had recieved six Just breaths by mistake. He went on to tell me that he had contacted the bros about the mistake and they had kindly told him to keep them. He said he believed that fate would make sure they got to the right people. Then a few days later he saw my post and very kindly agreed to gift me all six straps and then to top it off another zoxer named Paul messaged to say he would pay the postage. I was so moved by both of their acts of kindness that I actually cried, I honestly do believe that it was fate. I cannot get over how welcoming and kind the zox commmunity is, especially my two heros. So now I wear my just breath strap everyday to help me through not just Angel’s struggles but the struggles I go through trying to stay positive and strong for her. At the moment Angel’s condition has stabilized thanks to a new drug she has started, so her referral has been put on hold for six months, when she will be assessed again. It is pretty safe to say that I am completely hooked on zox now and have made quite a few orders and am steadily growing my collection with new and wonderful designs and inspiration quotes and I cannot wait to start being able to gift straps myself and help make other people smile like I did that day.
