eat, prey, love

October 23, 2019
In March 2018, I started the journey towards adopting a foster child. I did not know the child. He was merely a distant image in my mind. I completed all the classes needed for adoption from the foster care in Florida. I met my now son in late July 2018. As the progress moved forward, we were given the official adoption date of Halloween. The agency and court asked us to dress up for the hearing. However, my 15 year old son wasn’t into it. As a compromise, I bought matching football jerseys and Zox Halloween packs for everyone to wear to the courthouse. Now, every time I put on my Eat, Prey, Love strap I think of the greatest day of my life: the day I became an official mother.
