the best lanyards in lost designs

February 20, 2022

Each of the ZOX Singles and Straps designs are created to invoke a unique feeling. That art, along with its meaningful message, is part of what makes ZOX so special. It's also why designs can sell out so fast! Luckily some of our lanyards retain the original design of these retired artworks, so you can still wear the beautiful colors of ZOX even if you missed the wristbands.

These lanyards are not only ideal for enjoying some of our older designs, but they are also a functional way to keep your most important items close to you. So take a dive into the past with us as we reintroduce some of our favorite ZOX artworks.

Do What You Love

This design came out in 2020, and has been an eye-catching design ever since. The swirling colors are reminiscent of paint floating in water, which many artists will find familiar. The story accompanying the original wristband was written by one of our early artists, Nick (don’t worry, he’s stuck around to handle other designing processes), but his story strikes a chord with more than just artists. It’s all about pursuing your passion despite the world telling you it isn’t valuable or worthy of your effort. This lanyard should encourage you to have an artist’s passion; do what you love because you love it.

The Great Wave

Speaking of art, this lanyard’s design should look very familiar. It depicts Katsushika Hokusai’s Great Wave, one of the many prints included in his Thirty-six Views of Mount Fuji. The strap design came out in 2016, but the original woodblock print dates back nearly 100 years to 1831. When we look at the cresting wave, we see both an incredible force of nature and the part it plays in the entire ocean. On the inside of the lanyard, you will read “every wave is a part of the ocean.” This is a reminder that you too are a part of something bigger than yourself.

Count Your Blessings

This lanyard’s minimalist design is balanced by its impactful message: count your blessings. There is truly so much in the world to be grateful for, even something as small as a beautiful butterfly or singing birds. This message is there to remind you that today, you are breathing, which is a gift all on its own. That spark of life in you is there for a reason, so take a closer look at what blessings have entered your life.

Stay Positive

When life gets difficult and you feel bogged down by the “I don’t haves” or “I can’ts,” changing your mindset can make all the difference. The brightly colored Stay Positive lanyard might just be the key to taking on your day with a happy outlook on life. Suddenly a busy day at work turns into a challenge to show off your skills or that missed opportunity gives you the chance to explore other avenues you never would have thought of – you just need to change your perspective. We know that choosing to maintain a positive attitude is an upward battle, so we hope that this lanyard can nudge you in the right direction.

Starry Night

There has been not one but TWO versions of this design in ZOX history. It's not surprising given the beauty and popularity of Van Gogh’s Starry Night. Now the design lives on through this lanyard. This history behind the artwork is surprising to some given that the painting was modeled after the Dutch post-impressionist’s view out his sanitarium room window. Despite his isolation, the painting shows freedom of artistic expression that connects with many people. When wearing this lanyard, the shimmering stars should remind you to free your imagination.

Whether you’re looking for an easy way to manage your car and house keys or just want to add some vibrancy to your everyday look, one (or multiple) of these lanyards will do the trick. And they may be your last chance to have these unique designs, so grab them while you can!
